MARTINSBURG — Miss West Virginia preliminary night two saw Miss Rhododendron Paige Herold winning evening gown and Miss Mon Valley Zoe Burleson winning talent. Meanwhile for Miss West Virginia Teen, evening gown saw a tie between Miss Clarksburg Winterfest’s Teen Zoe Little and Miss Shenandoah’s Teen Zoey Coleman while Miss University City’s Teen Anna Mason won talent. Each girl showed their talents and passion throughout the night as it led to the finale on Saturday.
In addition to the winners that evening, several awards and scholarships were given to contestants for their dedication, service and care shown to others as they make a difference as title holders in their communities. As Miss America 2022 Emme Broyles hosted the event, she talked about the importance of the program in helping young women find new opportunities.
“It’s a movement of empowering young women everywhere to dream big,” Broyles said during the competition. “How do we do this? By awarding over $115,000 in cash and in-kind scholarships, $30,000 worth of prizes and life changing opportunities.”
Just a few of the scholarship winners included Women in the 21st Century winners Miss Blue Ridge Jade Thompson and Miss Sugar Maple’s Teen Kimber Kotson, the All In Award winners Miss Clarksburg Winterfest Ellie Yeater and Miss Morgantown’s Teen Olivia Mercer, the Trendsetter award winners Miss Rhododendron Paige Herold and Miss Clarksburg Winterfest’s Teen Zoe Little and many more.
