Eastern Panhandle Schools Get Ready to Celebrate Class of 2026

EASTERN PANHANDLE, W.Va. — The class of 2026 is getting ready to walk across the graduation stage, whether that be outdoors or inside a high school gymnasium.  The Panhandle News Network reached out to area school systems for more information. 

UPDATE:  On Thursday, May 21st, Spring Mills High School issued a statement indicating that graduation ceremonies will be held indoors due to rain in the forecast. 

All seniors who have not yet picked up their tickets should stop by the school (front door) today between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to do so. Each senior will receive a total of 8 tickets:

• 4 gym tickets (ceremony will be here)

• 2 auditorium tickets (livestream viewing)

• 2 cafeteria tickets (livestream viewing)

UPDATE From Berkeley Springs High School —  
Due to the weather forecast, Berkeley Springs High School’s graduation ceremony will be held indoors this evening. The ceremony will take place in the Gymnasium (C Building).
Doors will open at 4:45 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 5:30 pm.
Each graduate has been provided with 2 floor tickets and 4 bleacher tickets for guests attending the ceremony in the gymnasium.
Bus transportation will be provided from Widmyer Elementary School to Berkeley Springs High School beginning at 4:45 pm. There will be two designated stops upon arrival:
• One stop for individuals with gym tickets for the ceremony
• One stop for guests who would like to watch the livestream in the auditorium
Bus transportation will also be provided following the ceremony from Berkeley Springs High School back to Widmyer Elementary School.

Upon arrival, graduates should report upstairs in C Building.

Morgan County Schools 

The Paw Paw High School graduation is at 5:30 on May 20 in the school’s gymnasium. 

The Berkeley Springs High School graduation is on May 21 at 5:30 on the school’s football field but will be moved indoors to the school’s gymnasium in the case of inclement weather.

Some senior statistics were provided to the Panhandle News Network by Morgan County Schools.  

Paw Paw High School — Wednesday, May 21

Number of graduates 10 (Two have opted to participate in the James Rumsey Technical Institute graduation)

    • Number of students going into the military 2 (1 Air Force and 1 Air National Guard)
    • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education:  1 has already graduated from a post-secondary program, 1 headed into a trade school, and 4 headed into college/university programs.  The other 2 students completed programs at James Rumsey Technical Institute and are headed into the workforce.

Berkeley Springs High School —Thursday, May 21

  • Number of graduates 148
  • Number of students going into the military 8
  • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education:  48 -4 year college bound 28 -2 year college bound 8 -Apprenticeship Program  

The total number will be confirmed once final transcripts are requested. 

 Berkeley County Schools 

Spring Mills High School—Thursday, May 21

  • Number of graduates 395
  • Number of students going into the military 11
  • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education 241
  • Number of colleges/universities students will be attending 9

Martinsburg High School —Tuesday, May 26

  • Number of graduates 376
  • Number of students going into the military 7
  • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education 123
  • Number of colleges/universities students will be attending 39

Hedgesville High School—Wednesday, May 27

  • Number of graduates 319
  • Number of students going into the military 6
  • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education 202
  • Number of colleges/universities students will be attending 27

Musselman High School —Thursday, May 28

  • Number of graduates  422
  • Number of students going into the military 14
  • Number of seniors pursuing post-secondary education 175
  • Number of colleges/universities students will be attending 38

Jefferson County Schools 

Jefferson High School—Sunday, May 31 

  • May 31st: Graduation Ceremony at 1 p.m. at Shepherd
    University  — The graduation ceremony will be live streamed on YouTube under the Jefferson County Schools page
    for out of town family members and friends. The live streaming video will also be presented in the
    Frank Center at Shepherd (right next to the Butcher Center) and tickets are not required for this
    viewing

Washington High School —Sunday, May 31

  • May 31st: Graduation Ceremony at 4 p.m. at Shepherd
    University  — The graduation ceremony will be live streamed on YouTube under the Jefferson County Schools page
    for out of town family members and friends. The live streaming video will also be presented in the
    Frank Center at Shepherd (right next to the Butcher Center) and tickets are not required for this
    viewing
