MARTINSBURG, W.Va- With election season fast approaching, Berkeley County Voter registration director Joy Shreck made a Monday appearance on Panhandle Live! with all the key details.
Shreck noted with the state Republican Party electing to close its primary to just registered Republican Voters, her office has been busier than most years.
“We have had a lot of traffic and a lot of questions and concern from the public on how it affects them and how they need to remedy the situation.” Shreck said.
The final day to change your registration is Tuesday April 21st.
She also gave early voting dates. For the Dunn building in down town Martinsburg, early voting will happen for 10 days beginning April 29th. Then the Beddington Ruritan Club and South Berkeley Volunteer Fire Company will host early voting for 5 straight days also beginning on the 29th.
Shreck also emphasized the need for poll workers.
“We have a few spots left so we would encourage people to get involved.” Shreck said. “They are required to come to a training class. totally you get paid 300$, thats 50$ for your training day and 250$ for election day.”
